REORGANIZATION OF THE TYPICAL SOVIET EDUCATIONAL SPACE INTO A MODERN CULTURAL CENTER

In our time, educational and cultural centers are gaining increasing popularity. These are places where people can develop comprehensively, make new acquaintances, and improve their skills. Therefore, our work was aimed at transforming the Soviet educational space, which represented a typical rectangular structure that seemed to demonstrate the boundaries that restrict us, into an educational and cultural center with more interesting and unconventional forms. This project demonstrates freedom and an unconventional approach to form. By changing the very form of the building and window openings, we want to show that we have already moved away from standard stereotypical constructions and are striving to develop our projects as diverse and interesting as possible for people, seeking new forms and solutions.

The educational process in the center fosters the wonderful development of global and creative thinking in students and teachers.

We were provided with the material of a typical Soviet kindergarten for 140 places with walls made of lightweight concrete blocks. Based on this data, a project of an educational and cultural center was developed. We were given an initial plan from which we made rearrangements and had the opportunity to make changes according to the concept we pursued. When designing the center, the State Building Standards of Ukraine were used:

Buildings of general secondary education institutions are located no closer than 25 meters from the red line. When locating the buildings of these institutions in the public center of the village, this distance can be reduced to 10 meters provided that the normative sanitary and hygienic requirements are met.

The distance from the boundaries of the plots of educational institutions to the walls of residential buildings with entrances and windows is taken to be not less than 10 meters, from the buildings of educational institutions to residential and public buildings and structures – according to the norms of insolation, natural lighting, and noise protection.

The shape of the educational and cultural center has a rectangular base, but the second floor is designed with a curved roof, giving the building a dynamic appearance and symbolizing a push for development. Rounded wavy windows create smooth lines, adding tranquility and uniqueness to the exterior. A large number of panoramic windows give the building brightness and airiness.

Inside the center, each auditorium has its own color scheme and style, creating a comfortable atmosphere for various activities. The rooms are equipped with panoramic windows that provide natural lighting and create a connection with the surrounding environment.

The educational and cultural center is equipped with ramps, special bathrooms, and an elevator to ensure comfortable movement for all visitors, regardless of their abilities.

Adjacent to the building are parking spaces for cars and bicycles. In the backyard, there is a green area with a sports ground and a playground, creating a comfortable space for active recreation for the whole family.

The “Harmony of Development” project combines modernity and comfort, creating a space where everyone can develop and self-realize. Our team offers a unique combination of architectural art and practicality to create the best conditions for living and learning.
