CONCEPT-PROJECT OF MODULAR HOUSES FOR INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS (IDPS)

Historical Background:

The historiography of this concept of modular housing points to the influence of ancient Japanese temples, known for their distinctive architectural aesthetics with rich red colors and beams. This aesthetic influence has spurred the creation of a unique project that combines traditional elements with modern technologies to achieve functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Significance in the Context of Humanitarian Crisis:

The construction of modular houses is of paramount importance for internally displaced persons during the state of war in Ukraine. Given the scale of the humanitarian crisis and the numerous groups of people forced to leave their homes due to war events, modular houses can become an effective solution for temporary and stable housing.

Key Advantages of Modular Houses:

Quick Construction and Flexibility in Placement: Modular houses can be quickly erected and adapted to different conditions, allowing for the rapid provision of shelter for people in complex displacement situations.

Privacy and Security: They can be located in areas remote from frontlines and conflict zones to ensure maximum safety for residents, while also providing private space for each occupant.

Provision of Necessary Communications and Services: Modular houses can be equipped with all necessary communications and services, such as electricity, heating, water supply, and sanitation facilities.

Architectural Concept:

The architectural concept of these modular houses reflects ancient Japanese temples with their characteristic red colors and beams. Special design elements, such as the semicircular shape and the pedestal of the second floor, give the houses the appearance of flowers or leaves, creating a unique and attractive exterior.

House Details:

Design Using Wooden Elements: Modular houses have a wooden frame construction, providing them with environmental friendliness and aesthetic charm.

Decorative Cladding and Color: The houses are clad and faced with pine beams and plaster, while red decorative beams give them a distinctive exterior appearance.

Balconies for Personal Space: Entry to the apartments on the second floor is through balconies, providing personal outdoor space and enhanced security.

Living Environment and Surroundings:

The planting of forests around the town is envisaged to separate it from noisy highways and shopping centers, as well as to create areas for walks and promote the connection of residents with nature. It is also wise to create places for communal relaxation and entertainment to support the psychological and social well-being of residents.
